War Thunder Cheat Not Working? Try These Fixes
A short, ordered checklist for when your War Thunder cheat does not start or the overlay does not appear.
When a cheat does not start, the cause is usually one of a handful of things. Work through them in this order, starting with the quickest.
1. Check the status page
If War Thunder just updated, the cheat may be paused while it is updated. The vendor says it will take the cheat down if it is ever detected and notify users. The status page is the first place to look.
2. Confirm you are on the Steam version
The cheat works with the Steam client only. Other launchers are not supported.
3. Confirm your Windows version
Windows 10 and Windows 11 are supported, including builds up to 25H2. Run “winver” to see yours.
4. Check Secure Boot
Run “msinfo32” and read the Secure Boot State line. It needs to be off. If it still says On, the BIOS change did not apply.
5. Check Core Isolation
In Windows Security, open Device security, then Core isolation details, and make sure Memory integrity is off. Restart afterward. Many people change it and forget the restart.
6. Re-read your setup instructions
Your purchase includes step by step instructions and a video guide. A missed step is a common reason for a failed launch.
7. Open a Discord ticket
If everything above checks out, join the vendor’s Discord and open a support ticket. They can provide a checker tool that shows what is missing or incorrectly configured in your pre-setup installation. When you write the ticket, include your Windows version, whether Secure Boot and Memory integrity are off, and what exactly happens when you launch.
If the overlay shows but feels slow
The vendor states the overlay is built to avoid laggy ESP, and notes that a small FPS drop is possible on some systems because it runs externally. If you see something far worse than that, mention it in your ticket.
